Dear Friend,
We all know the story of David and Goliath.
More than simply a story of Old Testament times, it’s also your story, and our story.
It’s a story of faith and trust. It’s a story of the power of God being greater than any “giant” or foe or enemy any of us will ever have to face. And it’s a story of what it takes to access that power.
David reached into a brook and took out five stones. Those stones had been there a long time. They had been made smooth, over the course of years, by the rushing of the water.
Any other Israelite could have reached into the brook and picked those stones. They were simply laying there, waiting the hand of faith – David’s faith.
David, so small of stature he couldn’t walk in armor, was more powerfully equipped than any other Israelite. He had five smooth stones, one slingshot, and such supreme confidence in the promises of God that he laid everything on the line.
We think you are such a warrior. We think you are the kind of person who can reach down in a brook and pull out five stones. Others could – and don’t. We know you can, and have, and will.
